Lesley Ann’s Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe
Oven Temp 325
Cook Time 10 -12 minutes
Should make 16-20 cookies
Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups All - Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons of cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon of table salt
3/4 unsalted butter melted
1/2 granulated sugar
3/4 packed light brown sugar
1 large egg and 1 egg yolk room temp.
2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 Tablespoon of honey
1 Package of chocolate chips like Nestle Toll House
Instructions:
Mix together all of dry ingredients - flour, baking soda, cornstarch and salt in a large bowl.
Mix together in small bowl the wet ingredients- white and brown sugar, melted butter, next add the egg and egg yolk, honey, vanilla extract. Mix well
Add the wet ingredients into the large bowl with the dry ingredients. You will need a large wooden spoon or a rubber spatula,.
When it is mixed well add your chocolate chips.
It is best to cover and chill your batter in the fridge to avoid the batter being “greasy”. If you feel the batter is not sticking you may add a Tablespoon of flour to see if that will stiffen up the dough. Leave in the fridge for 2-3 hours.
Pre-heat the oven to 325 degrees, take a large baking sheet and line it with either a silicon baking mat or parchment paper.
You can use a cookie scoop or a large spoon for the dough and roll into your hands into small balls and line up on the baking sheet. Do not flatten the balls.
Bake the cookies from 10 -12 minutes. Check to see if the edges of the cookies are thin, then they are ready to be pulled out of the oven and cool off. Let the cookies set for 5-7 minutes before using a spatula to put them on a wire cooling rack to completely for another 5 minutes.
